The 2026 Women's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) tournament continues to attract immense spectator interest, with two impressive attendance records being registered over the weekend.
The most significant of these was set in Nanjing, where 17,816 spectators filled the Nanjing Olympic Youth Sports Park Gymnasium for the match between China and Serbia. In front of their inspired home crowd, the Chinese team prevailed 3:0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:21) and recorded their second victory in the tournament.
Thus, the match became the most attended game in the history of the Volleyball Nations League, improving on the previous record of 17,034 spectators, set in June 2025 in Istanbul during the match between Turkey and Brazil.
Another record was also broken in North America. The match between Canada and France set a new peak attendance for a women's VNL match on the continent, after the stands were filled by 10,483 spectators.
The two records are further proof of the growing popularity of women's volleyball worldwide and the ever-increasing interest in the matches of the Volleyball Nations League.
