The volleyball euphoria from the historic 2025 World Championship is now extending to EuroVolley 2026. Sofia, Burgas, and Blagoevgrad are already preparing venues where fans will be able to watch matches from the European Championship together on big screens.

Blagoevgrad – big screen and volleyball court at Macedonia Square

Blagoevgrad was the last to announce its initiative. From September 9 to 26, Macedonia Square will be transformed into a volleyball zone.
Blagoevgrad Municipality will provide a big screen and seating for spectators, and a volleyball court will be set up right next to it. This way, young and old will not only be able to follow the European Championship but also participate in the game themselves.
The initiative aims to popularize volleyball among adolescents and to turn the city center into a place for shared experience of the EuroVolley matches.

Sofia – EuroVolley Camp behind "Earth and Man"

An extensive program has also been prepared in Sofia. One of the main centers will be the EuroVolley Camp in the park area behind the National Museum "Earth and Man," next to the "European Union" metro station.
From September 14 to 26, screenings of matches from the European Championship are planned there. Volleyball activities will also take place in six metropolitan parks, and special installations will be located in various parts of the city.
Sofia, of course, will also be the center of Bulgarian participation in the championship itself – our national team will play its group stage matches in front of a home crowd.

Burgas – an entire Volley Village in the Sea Garden

Burgas goes even further and is preparing an entire Volley Village next to the Pantheon in the Sea Garden.
The festival zone will operate from September 9 to 26 with free admission. It will feature a large video wall for matches, a stage, and a mini-volleyball court, as well as a music and entertainment program.
Before Bulgaria's matches, a special live studio with Georgi and Valentin Bratoevi is planned, and the organizers also announced live broadcasts from the hall in Sofia.

Last year, screens gathered thousands across Bulgaria

We saw a similar picture in September 2025, when Bulgaria's historic run at the World Championship in the Philippines caused true volleyball euphoria.
Even for the semi-final against the Czech Republic, won 3:1 (25:20, 23:25, 25:21, 25:22), public viewings began to be organized in various places. For the historic final against Italy, large screens and video walls were already gathering thousands of fans in dozens of Bulgarian cities. Bulgaria lost 1:3 (21:25, 17:25, 25:17, 10:25) and remained with the silver medals, but the squares, parks, and sports halls, full of people, became one of the emblematic images of the world success.
A year later, communal viewing returns from the very beginning of EuroVolley. So far, initiatives have been announced in Sofia, Burgas, and Blagoevgrad, and after the huge interest last year, other Bulgarian cities can be expected to join them.
EuroVolley 2026 begins on September 9. Bulgaria is one of the four hosts along with Italy, Finland, and Romania, and our national team will play its five group stage matches in Sofia.
