In a tense match from the 6th round of the SMS Grup Efeler Ligi, Fenerbahçe Medicana defeated Galatasaray HDI Sigorta in a five-set thriller, finishing 3-2 (25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 22-25, 15-11). Jean Patry from Galatasaray finished the match with 29 points and an impressive 54% attack efficiency, while national team player Martin Atanasov added 15 points, but struggled in attack, finishing with 30% efficiency, nevertheless he achieved a 79% positive reception rate.

Galatasaray managed to take the match to a tie-break after trailing 0-2, but could not complete a full comeback.
