Rosalin Penchev: "It doesn't matter that I'm playing against my brother, we're going out for a win!"

For the second time this season, fate pits a volleyball player from VC Neftochimic 2010 against his brother. After Yasen Petrov recorded two victories against his older brother Georgi - a five-time champion with the "oilmen," in the 1/32 finals of the European club tournament for the Challenge Cup with Kifissia (Greece), on Wednesday, Rozalin Penchev will also meet his older brother - Nikolay, in the derby with CSKA. Here's what the outside hitter shared about this duel for the official club website of VC Neftochimic 2010.

- Rozalin, for you, the match with CSKA has a double meaning because you are facing your brother Nikolay. When did this happen before in Bulgaria?

- For me, this is just a match - who is on the other side of the net doesn't matter. Maybe years ago, when we met in the Polish championship, it was more exciting. But we have never played in Bulgaria, either in the same team or in opposing teams.

- Have you already talked specifically about this match and what?

- We haven't commented.

- This season, Yasen Petrov already faced his brother Georgi in Neftochimic's matches with Kifissia in Europe - how did he feel, and what is the difference in your feelings now?

- Yasen and I joked about him not giving away our tactics to his brother. It must have been exciting for both of them - especially to play in front of their parents. It brought them good emotions. As for myself, I might repeat myself, but I personally don't feel excited about who will be on the other side of the net. I'm more interested in what's happening on my side.

- How do you feel in your second season in Burgas - what is the main difference compared to a year ago when you arrived?

- I feel normal in Burgas. Perhaps the main difference is in the players - a large part of my teammates from last year are not with us now.

- What's your opinion on the CSKA team this season compared to the previous one?

- I don't have much observation over the CSKA team yet.

- How do you assess the championship as a whole?

- It is still too early to give evaluations of the championship, which is just beginning. On paper, there are many equally strong teams, but in practice, it is completely different.

- What would you say at this moment to the fans of Neftochimic?

- I hope we make them happy with a second victory in the championship!
