Levski Sofia moved one win away from the Demax League final after winning the crucial third match of the semi-final series against TSpVK. "The Blues" prevailed 3:1 (25:20, 22:25, 25:23, 25:20) in their home hall and now hold the initiative with a 2:1 lead.
Denislav Dimitrov's squad showed greater resilience in critical moments and managed to tip the scales in their favor, despite serious resistance from the opponent.
The first set was controlled by the hosts after an even start. After the middle of the set, Levski imposed their pace and managed to pull away, which proved sufficient for a lead in the score.
TSpVK reacted strongly in the second set. The team started explosively with a 5:0 lead and dictated the game for a long time. Although "the Blues" erased the deficit and equalized at 11:11, the guests were more precise in the final rallies and restored parity.
The third set became the turning point. TSpVK again started better, but Levski gradually equalized and turned the tide. Towards the end, the tension was palpable, but the hosts showed stronger mentality and took the lead in the match.
In the fourth set, Levski asserted control right from the initial rallies. Without allowing another comeback, the team closed the set at 25:20 and put an end to the match.
Elena Kolarova was the top scorer with 20 points, with her 6 blocks and 3 aces also making an impression. She received significant support from Slavina Koleva, Gabriela Zhekova, and Maria Zlatanova, who all finished with 14 points each.
The next match of the series is on April 14th in "Hristo Botev" hall, where Levski will have their first opportunity to close out the series and qualify for the final. In case of a tie, a decisive fifth match will be played on April 17th.
