The Bulgarian women's national U18 team won the Balkan Championship title after recording three convincing victories and deservedly climbing to the top of the final standings.
The team, led by coach Atanas Petrov, triumphed in the competition, decisively defeating hosts Albania 3:0 (25:10; 25:8; 25:18) in their last match. The Bulgarian national players demonstrated superiority throughout the entire game, leaving no doubt about their higher class.
On their way to the title, the young "lionesses" showed excellent play and character, finishing the tournament with only one lost set. In their first match, they defeated Serbia 3:0, then overcame Turkey 3:1, and in the final match, they outplayed Albania 3:0.
The success is further proof of this generation's potential and comes at a crucial moment in the team's preparation for the upcoming European Women's U18 Championship. The Old Continent's championship will take place from July 1 to 12 in Lithuania and Latvia.
Bulgaria will compete in Group B, where the national team's opponents will be hosts Lithuania, as well as the teams from Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Greece, and France.
