The organizers of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) tournament in Orléans received the green light to hold matches with spectators. This was reported by the French specialized publication VolleyActu, after a special commission inspected the conditions in the CO'Met hall earlier today amidst the severe heatwave in France.
Thus, today's matches will take place with an audience, despite concerns arising from high temperatures and the lack of permanent air conditioning in the hall.
VolleyActu clarifies that the decision is not final for the entire tournament. The situation regarding spectator admission will be reviewed daily based on meteorological conditions and the environment within the facility.
In this way, the first matches of the second VNL tournament in Orléans, including the clash between host France and Iran, will be held in front of fans in the stands.
An additional highlight for the hosts is that the match against Iran will be a milestone for coach Andrea Giani. The Italian specialist, who took over the "Roosters" in March 2022, will record his 100th match at the helm of the French national team.
So far, under Giani's leadership, France has 67 wins and 32 losses, having won the Olympic title at the 2024 Paris Games during this period.
