Todor Skrimov: I am staying at Levski for next season too

Todor Skrimov will continue to wear the uniform of Levski Sofia next season. He himself stated this to the club media of the "Blues", confirming that he has an active contract for another year.

The experienced receiver emphasized that his decision to return to Bulgaria was not dictated by a lack of offers from abroad, but by personal and family reasons.

"I had opportunities to stay abroad, but my family and I decided it was time to come home. It was important for us to be together," Skrimov shares.

Levski as a choice and environment

One of the key factors for his choice is the way the club operates. Skrimov has been following Levski's development since the beginning of the project with Vladimir Nikolov and describes the organization as an example of professionalism in Bulgaria.

He highlights the training base, the coaching staff, and the overall structure as key advantages that make the "Blues" a leading place for volleyball development in Bulgaria.

Motivation and attitude towards the game

Although matches in Sofia are not always played in front of full stands, this does not significantly affect his motivation. Skrimov is categorical that the main driving force remains the love for the game.

"As long as I love volleyball, I will continue to play and do it in the best possible way," he says.

Interestingly, the player himself admits that he currently enjoys the game even more compared to his last years abroad.

Levski's ambitions

Skrimov outlines high goals for the team for the next season – competing for all domestic trophies and a more significant presence in Europe. He expresses hope that Levski will manage to reach the group stage of European tournaments and improve their performance.

"We want to take another step forward. Last season, we just fell short," adds the national team player.

Role in the team and working with the youth

The experienced volleyball player sees serious potential in Levski's young players but avoids singling out specific names to avoid creating unnecessary pressure.

He strives to help with his experience but emphasizes that the main role in the development of young players belongs to the coaches. According to him, the success of the new generation will primarily depend on their work and consistency.

About the future

Skrimov admits that he still has no clear idea what he will do after the end of his competitive career. Although the topic of coaching has crossed his mind, he is not sure if he possesses the necessary patience for this profession.

At this stage, the most logical scenario seems to be for him to finish his career at Levski, although he himself leaves the door open for surprises.

A look at the game

One of the strongest elements in Skrimov's game remains his serve. According to him, it is a combination of three key components – power, technique, and mentality, emphasizing that control is just as important as power.

Power without control has no value. There is always something to improve, even at the end of one's career, he says.

The greatest success

Skrimov describes his fourth-place finish at the Olympic Games in London as the pinnacle of his career – an achievement that remains his strongest memory on the international stage.

With a clear role at Levski, strong motivation, and a desire to be useful to young players, Todor Skrimov remains one of the leading figures in Bulgarian volleyball and a key factor for the ambitions of the "Blues" next season.
