Led by former Levski coach Radoslav Arsov, Göztepe continues its upward trend in the Turkish Sultans League. The Izmir team won at home against Kuzeyboru with a score of 3:1 (20:25, 25:22, 25:23, 25:21) in a match from the sixth round of the championship.
In front of 1780 spectators, the hosts lost the first set, but managed to turn the tide of the match and record their third consecutive victory after successes against Manisa and Beşiktaş.
The most effective player for Göztepe was Ezgi Bektaş with 21 points, while the Chinese player Zhuang Yushan added 19. The hosts had an advantage in blocks (13:9) and aces (4:1), which compensated for their lower number of attack points – 54 against 59.
With this success, Radoslav Arsov's team climbed to sixth place in the standings with 9 points from five played matches, after starting the season with two defeats.
Göztepe's next challenge is on November 4, when Zeren Spor visits Izmir.
