Borislava Saykova with 15 points in a dramatic loss in a "Bulgarian" derby in Greece

Bulgarian national player Borislava Saykova had a strong match for ZAON, but her team lost as a guest to PAOK with a score of 2:3 (19:25, 25:23, 16:25, 25:22, 13:15) in a third-round match of the Greek Women's Volley League.
The middle blocker finished with 15 points, demonstrating excellent attacking efficiency – 12 successful attacks from 20 attempts (60%). Saykova added 2 points from blocks and 1 ace.
The Bulgarian was second in scoring for ZAON after Elpida Tikmanidou, who finished with 17 points.
Another Bulgarian, Desislava Nikolova, whose volleyball career began at the capital's Slavia, also participated in the match for the ZAON team. She appeared as a substitute in four of the five sets but failed to score. Nikolova was mainly involved in reception, with three receptions and no opportunity for attack.

The match went through many twists and turns, and the winner was determined in a tie-break, won by the hosts with 15:13. The winning PAOK squad also included Bulgarian receiver Vangelia Rachkovska. She came into play as a substitute but failed to score a point. Unlike her compatriot Borislava Saykova, who was among ZAON's main scorers, Rachkovska received limited playing time in her team's dramatic victory.
