The Spanish men's national volleyball team is without a coach. The federation terminated its cooperation with Frenchman Hubert Henno after unsatisfactory results in the last two seasons.
The 50-year-old specialist took over the team in the spring of 2025, succeeding José Luis Moltó. His main task was to qualify for the 2026 European Championship, but the Spaniards failed to secure a quota for the championship.
The results in the European League also did not meet expectations. Spain finished fifth in 2025, and a year later dropped to tenth position.
The national team's last competition under Henno's leadership was the Mediterranean Games in Taranto (Italy), where the Spaniards finished fifth.
According to the Spanish publication AS, the Frenchman led the national team in a total of 18 matches, with a balance of 10 wins and 8 losses. During his tenure, Spain dropped from 32nd to 36th place in the world rankings.
In its official statement, the Spanish Federation thanked Henno for his professionalism, work, and dedication over the two seasons.
It has not yet been announced who will succeed the Frenchman at the helm of the national team.
