Zhelev and Karyagin lead Macerata to fourth consecutive victory

One of the few bright spots in the round in Italy came from Macerata. Banca Macerata Fisiomed recorded their fourth consecutive victory after defeating Abba Pineto 3-0 (25:23, 25:17, 25:17) in 1 hour and 23 minutes of play in a regular season match of Serie A2.

The match started competitively, but the hosts took the key rallies in the first set, and then completely dominated the second and third, imposing a high tempo, solid defense, and effective play on serve and counterattack.

At the heart of the decisive victory were the two Bulgarian internationals. Denis Karyagin was the top scorer with 15 points, finishing with +8, 2 aces, 2 blocks, and 46% attack efficiency. Rusi Zhelev also played a strong match – 10 points, +2, 3 aces, 1 block, and an excellent 50% in attack. Macerata showed maturity and consistency and solidified their position as one of the stable teams in the championship. With this victory, Macerata climbed to eighth position.
