The Secretary-General of the Russian Volleyball Federation (RVF), Alexander Yaromenko, revealed details about the Russian national teams' plans for the summer. According to him, the men's national team has an invitation from China, where joint training sessions and several friendly matches with the Chinese team will take place. These events will happen from May 15 to 26. This was reported by "BO Sport" website. Yaromenko clarified that the RVF is negotiating the possibility of these matches being broadcast on television or held in front of spectators.
Additionally, Yaromenko confirmed that the Russian national teams - men and women - will hold friendly matches with the Serbian national teams. These matches will take place in Belgrade, with the trip scheduled for May 26 – June 2. During their visit to Serbia, the Russian men's and women's teams will play two matches each with the local national teams – one in training mode and one in game mode. The matches are planned for May 31 and June 1.
Yaromenko also shared that negotiations are upcoming in the next few days with representatives of the Serbian Volleyball Federation and a local television company to clarify details about the organization of the events. However, it remains unclear what status these matches will have – whether they will be played under the flag and anthem of Russia, or under a different brand. This decision will be made in the near future, after official permissions or rejections are received from international federations, such as FIVB and CEV.
Among the players on the list of candidates for the Russian national team are Vishnikov, Kurbanov, Ens, Bocharov, Dikarev, and about 30 other athletes.
