One of the most promising young Bulgarian volleyball players, opposite hitter Aleksandar Manushev, will not sign a professional contract with CSKA after turning eighteen and will continue his development in Italy, as reported byVolleyWeek.bg.
According to our media's information, the 18-year-old opposite hitter, who was named MVP of the U18 National Volleyball Finals where CSKA won the title, will join the structure of Allianz Milano.
The news of his departure was confirmed toVolleyWeek.bgand by CSKA head coach Aleksandar Popov. He specified that he himself learned about the volleyball player's decision this morning. However, the club did not confirm that Manushev's next destination would be Milano.
Currently, the young opposite hitter is in a training camp with the Bulgarian U20 national team.
VolleyWeek.bgsought a comment from the team's coach Ventsislav Simeonov, who stated that he was learning about the upcoming transfer from us.
If the transfer is finalized, Manushev will join a club where another CSKA youth player – Georgi Tatarov – will also play for the men's team from the new season.
The national team player is also a product of the 'reds'' academy and already has experience with the capital club's men's squad.
Thus, Allianz Milano is on its way to bringing together two Bulgarian volleyball players who grew up in the CSKA academy, although Manushev will initially continue his development within the Italian club's youth structure.
For CSKA, the separation from the young opposite hitter is a serious loss, as the club had relied on him to be part of the men's team's future.
