Bulgarian international Darina Naneva was very close to a transfer to the Brazilian giant Sesc RJ Flamengo, according to the specialized profile for young volleyball talents Cerca de la Red.
In a publication dedicated to Naneva and Katerina Veneva, the author describes the two Bulgarians as a "golden duo" and points out that the Rio de Janeiro club could attract them thanks to its serious financial capabilities and its policy of investing in promising athletes.

"Darina Naneva was very close to it," writes the author regarding the possibility of the middle blocker joining Flamengo.
Currently, there is no official confirmation from either the Brazilian club or Naneva's representatives that specific negotiations took place between the two sides.
At just 16 years old, the Bulgarian has already gained experience in the Nations League, where in 2026 she scored 60 points, 16 of which were blocks. This summer she signed with French club Virtus Le Cannet.
Sesc RJ Flamengo is one of the most successful volleyball clubs in the world. The team holds the record with 12 titles in the Brazilian Women's Superliga, and at the helm of the team is Olympic champion and one of the most successful coaches in the history of volleyball, Bernardo Rezende – Bernardinho. The team is known for attracting and developing young talents.
