Preslav Petkov continues his career in Germany. The 22-year-old middle blocker joins SWD powervolleys Düren for the 2026/27 season, with which the German Bundesliga participant closes the position in the middle of the net.
As we announced a month ago, Petkov is heading to the German championship, where he will now also have a national team teammate – libero Damyan Kolev, who joined Barock Volleys MTV Ludwigsburg. Thus, two of our national players will play in the same league next season.
Petkov (2.08 m) competed in the Italian second division for Folgore Massa last season.
Coach Christophe Achten is thrilled with the new signing: "We managed to attract a huge talent. Preslav has a good serve, is a strong attacker and a good blocker. He also shows emotions on the court. I am convinced that he will quickly be useful to us."
Petkov himself points out specific reasons for his choice: "I simply cannot ignore the fact that Düren has a great audience. The atmosphere definitely influenced my decision." He also shares that his ideas for development and for modern, fast play coincide with those of the coach.
The ambitions are also shared. "My biggest goal for the coming season is to help us give our fans a trophy," states the Bulgarian.
Already official: Preslav Petkov continues in Termania
