World champion Italy and Argentina will measure strength in a friendly match on July 5 in Trento, Trentino Volley announced.
The match will take place in BTS Arena and is part of both teams' preparation for the final phase of the Nations League 2026.
The encounter pits two of the strongest national teams in the world against each other. Italy, led by Ferdinando De Giorgi, is the reigning world champion, having triumphed at the 2025 World Championship, while Argentina is traditionally among the most dangerous opponents to leading powers in international volleyball.
Interestingly, the last time the two teams played in Trento was in 2015. Now, eleven years later, they will once again face each other in front of the local crowd in one of the most anticipated volleyball matches in Italy this summer.
The friendly match is scheduled between the second and third tournaments of the Nations League and will give both coaches the opportunity to make final checks before the decisive part of the VNL season.
