And Neftochimic supported Perugia's initiative against changes in the FIVB calendar

The vice-champion of Bulgaria and current holder of the country's Cup, Neftochimic 2010 (Burgas), also supported the initiative of the president of the Italian grand club Perugia, Gino Sirci, to protect the interests of European volleyball clubs. Thus, after the champion Levski (Sofia), the Burgas club also joined the #NoClubsNoVolley campaign.
This was announced by Neftochimic in information provided toVolleyweek.bg.
Perugia's president, Gino Sirci, personally invited the holder of the Bulgarian Cup to join the European clubs that insist on protecting athletes from the potential adverse consequences of the proposed new calendar of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) for the period 2028–2032.
According to Neftochimic's position, the planned relocation of men's and women's national team competitions to the winter period would lead to a significant tightening of the club championships and tournaments schedule.
Neftochimic's president, Ognyan Tomov, stated toVolleyweek.bgthat the club accepted Sirci's invitation and sent an official letter confirming its strong support for the #NoClubsNoVolley initiative.
"We believe that the health and well-being of the athletes come first," Tomov points out in his letter to the president of Perugia.
On October 29, the Italian club officially presented the campaign at a special press conference with the participation of Gino Sirci, head coach Angelo Lorenzetti, and three national players – Italian Simone Giannelli, Ukrainian Oleh Plotnytskyi, and Pole Kamil Semeniuk.
Earlier the same day, one of Levski's co-presidents, David Davidov, confirmed toVolleyweek.bgthat the capital club had also been contacted by the initiative committee. After analyzing the views, demands, and arguments of the organizers, Levski decided to join.
Thus, the two leading Bulgarian clubs – champion Levski and vice-champion Neftochimic – now officially support the European initiative against the proposed changes in the international volleyball calendar.
