Maritsa goes out to defend the Cup against Levski

The current holder of the Bulgarian Cup, Maritsa (Plovdiv), qualified for the final of the tournament after defeating Tspvk (Sofia) with a score of 3:0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:13). The match was played in Levski Sofia Hall. Thus, Maritsa qualified for their 14th final in the tournament. In the first game, Plovdiv's team took a 6:2 lead, which reached 17:14, and after an ace by Iva Dudova, Maritsa took the lead in games.

In the second set, the champions pulled ahead 6:1, reaching 14:10, and after a middle attack by Boryana Angelova, Ahmetcan Erşimşek's girls closed the set with 25:20.
In the third game, Plovdiv's team took a 9:6 lead, which reached 16:8, and after a successful attack by Ralina Doshkova, Maritsa closed the match with 25:13 and qualified for the tournament final.
Viktoria Koeva became the top scorer for Maritsa with 12 points, Vanessa Agbortabi added 11, and Iva Dudova contributed 9.

For Tspvk, Tanya Angelova and Kalina Veneva finished with the most points – 10.

Maritsa (Plovdiv) libero Zhana Todorova spoke after the Cup semifinal against Tspvk (Sofia).
"We congratulate the Tspvk team. They are young girls with a future, who have great drive, desire, and good tactical preparation. We had difficulties in the first game, but I think we were the better team and we showed it in the next two games. I have no preferences, I just want it to be a good final," said Zhana Todorova.

After the men's team of Levski, the ladies followed their example and qualified for the final of the Bulgarian Cup tournament after a victory over Deya. This is a repeat of the men's semifinal in Burgas, where Levski also reached the final after a victory over Deya.
In Levski Sofia Hall, which hosts the last 3 matches of the competition, head coach Radoslav Arsov's players won 3:0 (25:23, 25:19, 25:19) against the Burgas team.
Against "Deya", Mikaela Stoyanova was the top scorer with 18 points (2 aces, 2 blocks). Ivanina Malinova added 10 points (1 ace, 3 blocks).
The matches were watched by national coaches Antonina Zetova and Dragan Nesic.

The final is tomorrow at 5:00 PM Bulgarian time in Levski Sofia Hall, and Maritsa is chasing its 10th Bulgarian Cup.
