Two Bulgarians found a place in the commissions of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) for the period 2024-2028. These are Lyubomir Ganev and Radostin Stoychev.
The compositions of the 20 commissions were determined during the 39th congress of the headquarters, which is being held in the Portuguese city of Porto. On Saturday, Fabio Azevedo took over the FIVB, succeeding Dr. Ary Graça, and Lyubomir Ganev joined the Administrative Board.
The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation was elected among the members of one of the three entirely new commissions –Legacy and Endowments.It will be led by the Dutchman Joop Alberda, who became known to the general public in 1996 when he went to the Olympic Games as a coach. He led the Netherlands men's volleyball team to the gold medal in Atlanta. Radostin Stoychev is one of the 12 names in theCoaching Commission.Its name was changed from "Technical and Coaching Commission", and the chairman will be the Italian Giovanni Guidetti.
There were changes in the names of two other commissions – "Marketing and Communication" became "Communication", and the "Snow Volleyball Commission" is now "Mass Participation and Snow Volleyball".
Lyubomir Ganev also joined the council of theVolleyball Nations League(VNL). FIVB also created a new council – Volleyball Leagues and Clubs.
Outgoing President Dr. Ary S. Graça received the title of Honorary President of the FIVB.

In accordance with the FIVB Constitution, each Confederation has elected two alternate members for the FIVB Board of Administration. These alternate members will only take a position on the FIVB Board of Administration if a vacancy arises from their Confederation.
Lyubomir Ganev is from the CEV quota, along with: Margaret Ann FLEMING – Scotland, Gernot LEITNER – Austria, Gyula MESTER – Serbia, Marek PAKOSTA – Czech Republic, Annie PEITAVIN – France, Marek ROJKO – Slovakia, Leonel SALGUEIRO – Portugal and alternate members Renato ARENA and Philippe SCHÜRMANN.
