Vlado Nikolov: I pray and work for an Olympic medal

Vladimir Nikolov speaks like a man who has already been at the top, but continues to look upwards. In his participation in "The Evening Show" on BNT, the former captain of the national team outlined a clear line ", successes in Bulgarian volleyball are not accidental, and the next big goal remains an Olympic medal.

Successes are not a coincidence, but a system.

Nikolov was adamant that the rise of the national teams should not be taken as a surprise: "This is not a miracle. This is many years of consistent work."
He emphasized that in recent years, Bulgaria regularly wins medals in youth categories, which is the foundation for future results in men's volleyball. According to him, this line of development is directly related to the federation's management and in-depth work.

The best must lead the team.

On the topic of coaches, Nikolov was clear again ", nationality is not important, but quality is: "We shouldn't divide into Bulgarian and foreign, but into capable and incapable."
His comparison to Formula 1 was indicative ", if you have a competitive "bolide," you should entrust it to the best "pilot."

The Olympic void remains.

Despite his rich career, one absence remains tangible ", a medal from the Olympic Games. Bulgaria reached fourth and fifth place, but not the podium.
"For third, fourth, and second place, you worked in the same way," Nikolov noted, emphasizing how small the difference is between success and missing out.

The dream continues in the next generation.

Today, his focus is on the future ", both in the national team and in his own family. His sons, Aleksandar and Simeon, are already part of the new generation of Bulgarian volleyball players.
"I pray and work for an Olympic medal," said Nikolov, clearly showing that the ambition has not disappeared ", it has simply been redirected.

Bulgaria as a choice.

Despite opportunities abroad, he remains in Bulgaria: "With very little effort, it can become much better."
Nikolov believes that the potential of Bulgarian volleyball is present, and the issue lies in persistence and proper work.

The beginning ", a "tomorrow in the hall."

A curious detail from the conversation was also his start in volleyball. It all began at school when coach Yanka Prohorova pointed him out and sent him to the gym.
A decision that changed not only his life but also a part of Bulgarian volleyball history.

Family ", the foundation of everything.

Nikolov also paid special attention to his family. According to him, the most important thing is communication and and making decisions together. His wife made a key sacrifice, giving up her career to build a stable family environment.
Vlado Nikolov speaks without unnecessary rhetoric – with clear assessments and even clearer goals. Bulgarian volleyball now has a foundation, and the next step is clear: an attack on the Olympic podium.
