New project in women's volleyball: "Lion Hearts" with a three-year plan

Volleyball Academy "Lion Hearts" announced the creation of a new women's team and opened selections for the 2026/27 season. The project is structured as a three-year plan, which envisages promotion from the Higher League to participation in European tournaments.
Such a long-term commitment is rarely seen in Bulgarian women's volleyball. In recent years, a sustainable model has been observed mainly at "Maritsa", while other clubs often experience budget fluctuations and shorter-term planning.

"Lion Hearts" are banking on rapid development — with promotion targeted in the very first season, followed by an assault on the top positions in the Super League, and within three years, entry onto the international stage.
The club states that it will offer competitive conditions, including remuneration among the leading in the country, individual development plans, and a coaching staff with international experience. Emphasis is also placed on data-driven work and modern training methods.
The selection is open to players of different levels — both for Super League players seeking more playing time, and for volleyball players who want to return to the game or take the next step in their development.
The ambition is clearly stated, but its realization will primarily depend on whether the club manages to secure the necessary resources and build a competitive squad in the very first season.
