The coach of the Bulgarian women's national team, Marcello Abbondanza, described Group F of the 2027 World Championship as extremely difficult. The Bulgarians will face Japan, Russia, and Argentina.
"A very, very difficult group. We know Argentina well. Japan is one of the great powers in world volleyball. Russia is returning after many years and, in my opinion, will be one of the strongest teams. Probably even the best, looking at the qualities of the players," commented the Italian specialist to the official website of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
Abbondanza admitted that qualifying for the next phase would be extremely difficult, but emphasized that the national team would not give up on this goal.
"I am not afraid to face anyone. Playing against teams of such a high level is very positive for us," said the coach.
He expects Bulgaria to be more competitive thanks to the experience gained by the young players. Before the World Championship, the national team will participate in the European League, which Abbondanza views as an important test for the team's development.
"Getting out of the group will be incredibly difficult, but nothing is impossible. The most important thing is to grow as a team and be more competitive," concluded the Italian.
