Levski's setter Stoil Paley will leave the club after the end of the season. This became clear during the fourth semi-final match between CSKA and Levski, played this evening in the capital's "Hristo Botev" hall.
Expectations are that the national setter, who became a silver medalist at the World Championship in the Philippines last year, will continue his career abroad. A similar path was chosen by his teammates Vladimir Galkov and Venislav Antov, who headed to French clubs after the end of last season.
The news about Paley's potential outgoing transfer logically raises the question of the future of the setter position in the "Blues" squad. Currently, the team's second setter is 17-year-old Petko Petkov, and the squad also includes another young player in this position – 19-year-old Antonio Donchev. A return from Montana by Viktor Zekov, who gained experience as a primary setter under the leadership of Dani Peev, is also not ruled out.
The situation suggests that Levski will have to seriously consider bringing in a more experienced player for this key position. Although the club has promising young players, Paley's potential departure would leave a significant void in the game's organization.
Developments regarding Levski's squad selection for next season will certainly be among the important topics, especially given the club's ambitions to remain among the leading teams in Bulgarian volleyball.
