Italy releases documentary about the World Cup in Manila with exclusive footage from the final with Bulgaria

The Bulgarian volleyball audience has good reason to pay special attention to the news from Italy, where the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) announced the premiere of an official documentary film about the men's national team, which in 2025 became world champions after defeating Bulgaria 3:1 in the final in Manila.

The film, titled "Hands on the World the historic back2back", will be broadcast on February 26 at 7:00 PM on FIPAV's YouTube channel and will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the journey of Giannelli and company, including the final match against Bulgaria, through the federation's own footage and never-before-seen moments outside of television broadcasts.

The 37-minute documentary film traces the emotions, difficulties, and key moments of Italy's path to the country's fifth world title in its history. FIPAV's cameras follow the team closely in the locker rooms, during travels, in moments of tension and joy, revealing the human side of a championship squad led by Ferdinando De Giorgi.

Before the premiere of the men's documentary, on February 12 at 7:00 PM, a documentary dedicated to Italy's women's national team, "Born to Win Italy to the Top of the World", will also be released. Julio Velasco's team won the world title in Bangkok after defeating Turkey 3:2 in the final, and the film tells the story of their entire golden journey through the eyes of the athletes themselves.

The women's production is a 30-minute narrative about sacrifices, ambition, and team spirit, built entirely from exclusive footage shot by the federation, revealing the daily life, emotions, and internal dynamics within Anna Danesi and her teammates' squad. A special place is also given to the role of Velasco, whose approach and philosophy are at the core of this historic success.

Both documentaries are entirely produced by the Italian Volleyball Federation and use their own archive and original visual material, without including footage from other broadcasters something that makes the project unique in terms of access and authenticity.

With two world triumphs in 2025, Italy became the first team sport in the country to win world titles for both women and men within a single calendar year an achievement of historical significance for Italian and world volleyball.

For Bulgarian fans, the interest is direct the documentary film for the men offers an opportunity to revisit our national team's biggest match in 2025 and see how the world champions tell the story of the final against Bulgaria from an inside perspective.
