The derby between CSKA (Sofia) and Maritsa (Plovdiv) from the fifth round of the women's volleyball championship has been postponed to November 19 (Thursday) at 6:30 PM in the capital's "Vasil Simov" hall.
Initially, the match was supposed to take place on November 8, but the schedule was changed due to the commitments of the Plovdiv team in the qualifications for the group stage of the Champions League. The Bulgarian champions will visit Tovuz (Azerbaijan) for the return leg of the third qualifying round of the tournament.
The match between Minyor (Pernik) and Levski (Sofia) will replace the postponed derby in the television program.
The clash between CSKA and Maritsa has direct significance for the first place in the temporary standings. The Plovdiv team started the season with four consecutive 3:0 set victories and without losing a single set.
CSKA is the closest contender to the 12-time champions of Bulgaria, which makes the upcoming match the first serious test for Maritsa's leading position in the new season.
Without the Maritsa and CSKA derby this Sunday, the battle for the top is postponed until November 19
