Serious financial relief for volleyball clubs in Turkey

The Turkish Federation (TVF) is abolishing the previous 10% deduction from revenues on certain contracts for television rights, media services, and equipment. The decision is related to a change in the statute, discussed at the federation's seventh regular financial general assembly, held on November 4 in Ankara.
The change is stipulated in Article 37, Paragraph 1, Letter 'e' of the Turkish Volleyball Federation's statute. The officially published TVF document explicitly states that the previous 10% deduction is replaced with 0%.
In practice, this means that if a club receives 1 million Turkish Lira under a contract falling within the scope of the provision, instead of transferring 100,000 Lira to the federation, it will be able to retain the entire amount.
The change covers revenues from television, radio, and internet broadcasting of matches, contracts with media organizations, and contracts related to club equipment. It does not automatically mean exemption from deductions on all possible club revenues.

Fenerbahçe thanks the federation

Among the first to welcome the decision was Fenerbahçe. In a statement cited by the Turkish publication Voleybol Aktüel, the club expressed satisfaction with the measure and thanked the TVF for its support of club volleyball.

Fenerbahçe emphasizes that such decisions are important for the economic sustainability of clubs and increasing their competitiveness.
The new financial policy is particularly significant for Turkish volleyball, where leading clubs have serious budgets, attract world stars, and invest significant funds in international competition.
The exemption from the previous deduction will allow clubs to direct a larger share of their revenues towards their own activities, including selection, preparation, and development of youth players.
According to the official text, the amendment comes into force on the date of its publication.
