Two sets of 25:6 for the champions
Just two days after the tough European clash with Herceg Novi, Maritsa's volleyball players showed no signs of fatigue and recorded their third consecutive victory in the championship.
The match in "Stroitel" hall was almost entirely under the control of the hosts. They left the young VASK team with only six points in the opening set, and the only more serious resistance came in the second part, won with 25:19.
In the third set, Maritsa took an impressive 13:1 lead and again finished at 25:6. Thus, the champions maintained their perfect record, while VASK suffered its third consecutive defeat.
Maritsa 2022 snatched victory after a comeback from 1:2
The atmosphere in the other Plovdiv match was completely different. Maritsa 2022, led by Diyan Boyukliev, prevailed over CPVC with 3:2 (25:23, 14:25, 23:25, 25:21, 17:15) after a hard-fought battle.
The hosts took the first set, but the team from the capital turned the score to 2:1. Maritsa 2022 found the strength to equalize, and in the decisive tie-break, both teams continued the battle even after the 15th point.
Ultimately, the Plovdiv team prevailed with 17:15 and recorded their first success of the season. CPVC, who dramatically won their away game against Dea Sport in the previous round, this time remained on the losing side in a five-set clash.
After the match, both teams have three points each and occupy sixth and seventh place respectively in the temporary standings.
