Damian Kolev's Ludwigsburg survived a five-set thriller with Karlsruhe

Ludwigsburg, with national libero Damyan Kolev, achieved their third consecutive victory in the German Bundesliga after defeating Karlsruhe 3:2 (24:26, 25:22, 21:25, 25:20, 16:14) in a match from the third round.
The hosts twice found themselves trailing in the sets but managed to turn the tide and maintain their perfect record since the start of the season.
Kolev participated in the match, receiving 12 serves, making two errors, and finishing with 16.67% excellent reception. Ludwigsburg also used a second libero, Laurin Schigel, who recorded 18 receptions without an error.
Eight blocks by Lipscomb
One of the most impressive individual statistics in the match was the performance of middle blocker Caleb Lipscomb. He scored 11 points, 8 of which came from blocks.
The most effective scorer for the winners was Adrian Möll with 12 points, while Gregor Migge also added 11.
Karlsruhe narrowly won the contested first set 26:24, but the hosts equalized after 25:22. The visitors took the lead again, winning the third set 25:21, before Ludwigsburg brought back the intrigue with 25:20.
In the decisive tie-break, the battle continued even after 14:14, but the hosts won the last two rallies to secure the final 16:14.
Thus, Ludwigsburg recorded their third victory in three matches and now has 8 points with a set difference of 9:2. Unlike the first two matches, which were won without losing a set, this time Kolev's team had to overcome a serious challenge to maintain their successful streak.
