Transfer bomb in Poland: Alex Grozdanov leaves Bogdanka and returns to Italy?

The captain of the Bulgarian national team, Alex Grozdanov, may leave Bogdanka LUK Lublin after the end of the current season and return to the Italian SuperLega. This is according to Polish journalists amid reports of significant changes in the squad of the Polish vice-champion in the summer of 2027. However, there is no official confirmation yet regarding the future of the Bulgarian middle blocker.
On October 28, journalist Edyta Kowalczyk from "Przegląd Sportowy Onet" reported that Grozdanov is among the players who might leave Lublin after the end of the 2026/27 season. According to her information, the Bulgarian is linked with a return to Verona, where he played between 2022 and 2024, before moving to the Polish league.
The publication recalls that even last season, the world vice-champion received offers from Italian clubs, but at that time he preferred to extend his contract with Bogdanka.
Similar information was spread by Polish journalist Jakub Balcerak, who closely follows the transfer market. According to him, Grozdanov is close to returning to Verona, and his potential departure explains Bogdanka's interest in 21-year-old Polish international Jakub Nowak. Nowak, who plays for Częstochowa, is seen as a possible replacement for the Bulgarian in the middle of the net. His acquisition would allow the team led by Stéphane Antiga to use more foreign players in other positions.
Leon and Takahashi are also linked with departures
The information about Grozdanov is part of much broader transfer speculations surrounding Bogdanka. According to "Przegląd Sportowy Onet", Turkish Halkbank Ankara has reached an agreement not only with Wilfredo Leon but also with Japanese international Ran Takahashi.

Kowalczyk claims that the two outside hitters could continue to play together in the 2027/28 season, but already in the Turkish championship.
Balcerak also confirms the interest in Takahashi, but clarifies that Bogdanka is trying to keep the Japanese volleyball player. Therefore, even between the publications of Polish journalists, there is a difference in the degree of certainty regarding the potential transfer.
Denis Bardarov could become Leon's teammate
The "Przegląd Sportowy Onet" publication also mentions another Bulgarian international - Denis Bardarov.
According to the Polish publication, Halkbank intends to keep Bardarov in its squad next season, despite ambitions to sign Leon and Takahashi. Head coach Radostin Stoychev also has a contract with the Turkish club for the 2027/28 season.
If such a scenario materializes, Halkbank would have extremely strong competition in the outside hitter position.
Major reconstruction or early transfer speculations?
The potential departures of Leon, Takahashi, and Grozdanov would mean a serious change in Bogdanka's main squad. However, the Polish club has active contracts with setter Marcin Komenda and opposite hitter Kevin Sasak, which ensures some continuity.
At this stage, all information about Alex Grozdanov's future remains unofficial. There is no announced transfer, presentation from Verona, or public confirmation from the volleyball player himself.
The possibility of returning to Italy seems realistic given his previous successful period in Verona, but there is a significant difference between a club's interest and signing a contract.
For now, what is certain is that Grozdanov continues to be a player for Bogdanka LUK Lublin, and the question of whether he will return to the Italian SuperLega remains open.
