Gianlorenzo Blengini is already in Italy and is ready to start work at the helm of the women's Numia Vero Volley Milano. The Italian specialist arrived in Milan, where he was greeted with the Vero Volley club scarf.
Blengini takes over his new team immediately after the end of his commitments with the Bulgarian national team at EuroVolley 2026. Already when his appointment was announced in August, Vero Volley specified that he would join the squad after the European Championship.
Until his arrival, Milan's preparation was led by assistant coach Nicola Daldello. On September 19, the team finished 2:2 (25:18, 28:26, 12:25, 18:25) in a friendly match against Novara.
Blengini has already been registered by the Italian women's league as the team's head coach. Currently, Vero Volley has not yet announced a date and time for his official presentation to the media.
For Blengini, this is the beginning of a new stage in his career – his first job at the head of a women's team, and he will combine his commitments at Vero Volley with his position as coach of Bulgaria.
