Poland quickly dealt with Israel and topped the group in Sofia

Poland achieved a second consecutive victory at EuroVolley 2026 and temporarily topped the standings in Group B in Sofia. The European champions defeated Israel in three sets and continue without losing a set since the start of the tournament.
Poland asserted their superiority from the beginning and did not allow Israel to turn the match into an even contest. Nikola Grbic's team controlled the game and finished the match in three sets, without any serious intrigue.
For the Poles, this is their second 3-0 success in "Arena 8888 Sofia". In their first match, they defeated Portugal 3-0 (25:12, 25:18, 25:20).
After two matches played, Poland has 2 wins, 6 points, and a set ratio of 6:0. Bulgaria has exactly the same record, but the Poles are at the top due to a better ratio of points won and lost – 150:101 against 150:110 for our national team.
Ukraine is in third place, also with 2 wins and 6 points, but with a set ratio of 6:1. Israel is fourth with 2 losses and 0 points, followed by North Macedonia and Portugal.
Thus, Poland took the lead in the group before the Bulgaria – Ukraine match tonight in "Arena 8888 Sofia". The winner of this match will remain the only undefeated team of the two and will take an important step in the battle for the top positions.
Bulgaria and Poland will meet in the final round of the group stage on September 16.
