A.S. Volley Lube announced an update on the condition of the team's libero, Fabio Balaso, following a fracture of the fourth metacarpal bone of his right hand (this is the bone that connects the ring finger to the wrist. It is one of the five metacarpal bones in the palm and is located between the finger bones (phalanges) and the wrist bones). The medical staff of Cucine Lube Civitanova and the player have agreed on surgical intervention for reduction and osteosynthesis of the fracture (restoring a broken bone by fixing the bone with metal plates, screws, or nails to heal properly). The operation will be performed on Tuesday, April 1, in Modena, by the team of Professor Luigi Tarallo. The injury to the libero of Lube and the Italian national team occurred during an accidental collision with a teammate during training on Friday afternoon at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche. Further assessments will be made in the days following the operation in Modena.
