Former Bulgaria coach takes over Haak sisters and Sweden

After a successful summer with the historic Golden League win and the departure of Giulio Bregoli, the Swedish Volleyball Federation is starting with another Italian coach, namely Lorenzo Micelli. This was announced on the website of the Swedish Volleyball Federation.

The Urbino-born specialist was the coach of the Bulgarian women's national team until last summer and is currently at the helm of women's Olympiacos, which is the leader in the Greek championship.
Micelli will have the task of leading the Swedish first team in 2025, which is rich in events. Sisters Isabelle and Anna Haak, along with their teammates, will participate in the CEV European Golden League Final Four to defend the title won in 2024. The tournament is organized in Sweden, specifically in Ängelholm, and will take place on June 28 and 29.
At the end of the summer, the girls selected by Micelli will take part in the World Championship in Thailand, which will be Sweden's debut in the history of the tournament. There, the Swedes will be in Group A along with the host team, the Netherlands, and Egypt.
Bulgaria does not have good memories of the Scandinavians, who, under the leadership of another Italian, Ettore Guidetti, cousin of Giovanni Guidetti, defeated us 2:3 in the 1/8 finals of the home European Championship in 2021 in Plovdiv.
