Yulia Brovkina is no longer part of Lokomotiv Kaliningrad's squad. After being sent to the second team as a result of the tumultuous scandal with her teammate Ebrar Karakurt, the Russian middle blocker decided to leave the club without waiting for the end of the season.
The scandal that shook Russian volleyball erupted in early February this year. According to available information, a conflict arose between Brovkina and Karakurt, leading to physical altercation and damage to Brovkina's car. Subsequently, Lokomotiv's management sanctioned the Russian volleyball player, moving her to the team's second formation, competing in a lower division.
Not long after, Brovkina decided to change her environment, and the termination of her contract was financed by Zarechie Odintsovo club, which also plays in the Russian elite. The agreement between the parties likely covers the next season as well.
At the same time, Ebrar Karakurt's future at Lokomotiv remains unclear, with rumors emerging that the Turkish star might also leave the club after the end of the season.
