Ukraine put up a serious resistance against one of the leaders in the VNL, Poland, but lost 1:3 (21:25, 13:25, 25:22, 23:25) in a match from the 6th round of the Nations League in Bangkok.
The Ukrainians started with difficulty and lost the first two sets, but in the third, they showed character, improved their reception and attack, and reduced the deficit after a 25:22 win. In the fourth set, Jakub Gluszak's team took a convincing lead and was close to a tie-break, but the Poles caught up and closed the match at 25:23.
Statistics showed Poland's superiority in attack (62 to 47 points) and digs (99 to 85), while Ukraine was better in blocking (13 to 10) and reception (88 to 76). Both teams finished with 3 aces each, and the total score was 97:82 in favor of the Poles.
The top scorer for Poland was Magdalena Stysiak with 27 points (25 from attack and 2 from blocks). For Ukraine, Svitlana Dorsman scored 14 points, and Anna Artyshuk added 13.
After the win, Poland maintained its 4th place in the provisional standings of the Nations League, while Ukraine is in 11th position. In the world ranking, the Poles occupy 6th place, and the Ukrainians remain 16th.
