One of the big stars of Polish volleyball, Tomasz Fornal, officially returns to PlusLiga. After just one season with Turkish Ziraat Bankası Ankara, the 28-year-old outside hitter was presented as a new signing for the reigning Polish champions Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie.
Last season, Fornal won all possible trophies in Turkey – the championship title, the Cup, and the Super Cup of the country, and also helped Ziraat reach the bronze medals in the Champions League.
For months, his return to Poland had been speculated, and on June 15, the transfer was officially confirmed by the Zawiercie club, which presented the national team player in an impressive way, using the theme of their nickname 'Jurassic Knights'.
'I am happy to be returning to Poland and to be playing for a club like Zawiercie. Our goals are very high, and we will strive to win everything possible,' Fornal stated to the club's official website.
With the signing of one of the best outside hitters in the world, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie continues to build a star-studded squad for the 2026/27 season, in which they will target trophies in PlusLiga, the Champions League, and the Club World Championship.
