One of the most influential figures in Italian volleyball is leaving the scene in Civitanova. According to information from the mobile applicationVolleyball.it+, from the specialized publication volleyball.it, the long-standing general director of Cucine Lube Civitanova, Beppe Cormio, is parting ways with the club, and his successor is the Serbian legend Marko Podraščanin, who is ending his playing career and immediately taking on the key management role.

The change marks the end of an entire era for one of the most successful clubs in world volleyball. For years, Cormio was the architect behind much of Lube's sporting successes, turning the club into a constant contender for titles in Italy, Europe, and the world. Under his leadership, numerous world-class stars arrived in Civitanova, and the club won many accolades, including the Champions League, the Club World Championship, the Scudetto, and the Italian Cup.
The news is even more surprising because it comes at a time when Cormio was still actively leading the club's sports and technical processes and participating in building the team for the new season. Just a few months ago, he was among the key figures in Lube's selection process and publicly presented the club's future plans.
On the other side stands Marko Podraščanin – one of the most iconic figures in the history of Serbian volleyball. The middle blocker returned to Civitanova in recent years and once again established himself as a leader both on the court and in the locker room. According to information fromVolleyball.it+ it was precisely these qualities that tipped the scales in his favor when choosing Cormio's successor.
Lube views the decision as a natural succession. Instead of seeking an external manager, the club entrusts its strategic future to a person who thoroughly knows the organization, philosophy, and environment in Civitanova.
The question of what lies ahead for Beppe Cormio himself also remains curious. His name is traditionally associated with various projects in the SuperLega, and his reputation as one of the most successful volleyball managers in Europe guarantees that there will be no lack of interest in him. For now, however, the future of Lube's former general director remains unknown.
With one decision, Cucine Lube Civitanova closes a glorious chapter in its history and opens a new one. After decades of success under the leadership of Beppe Cormio, the club now entrusts its direction to a person who until recently wore the team's jersey, and from now on will have to lead the battles from the director's office.
