Bulgarian international Monika Krusteva will continue her career in Italy in the 2026/27 season, but with a new team. According to volleyball.it, the opposite hitter born in 1999 has signed with Pallavolo CBL Costa Volpino, which competes in Women's Serie A2.
Thus, Krusteva will record a second consecutive season in one of the strongest national championships in the world. During the past campaign, the Bulgarian player defended the colors of PanBiscò Leonessa Altamura, where she established herself as one of the highest-scoring players in the championship.
Krusteva's new club comes after an extremely successful season. Costa Volpino won the Italian Cup in Serie A2, finished first in the regular season, and reached the semifinals of the playoffs for promotion to the elite league.
In its official presentation, the Italian club emphasizes that the Bulgarian player was among the best attackers in Serie A2 last season. Krusteva also impressed with one of the strongest individual achievements in the championship, scoring 39 points in a single match – a league season record.
The product of Levski Sofia has rich international experience. In her career, she has played in Turkey, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and Romania, and in 2019, she was also part of the Bulgarian women's national team in the Volleyball Nations League.
With the signing of Krusteva, the ambitious team from the Bergamo region shows its serious intentions to be among the main contenders for the top positions in Serie A2 in the new season.
