Lora Kitipova and Ivan Petkov dropped out of the Challenge Cup after two losses in Spain

Maccabi XT Haifa, led by former Bulgaria coach Ivan Petkov, concluded its participation in the Women's Challenge Cup tournament after a second loss to Spanish Tenerife Libby's La Laguna. The Israeli team lost 0:3 (15:25, 17:25, 16:25) in the 1/32 finals return leg, played in the "Pablos Abril" hall on the island of Tenerife.
The two teams played both matches in Spain. In the first match on November 3, Tenerife won 3:1 (25:12, 25:17, 24:26, 25:17), and two days later confirmed their superiority with a decisive victory.

Maccabi faced serious difficulties in attack, scoring only 29 points from attack with 31% success rate. The visitors did not record a single ace, and their reception finished with 44% positive and 36% excellent plays.
For the Israeli team, the most effective player was Priscilla Sousa Ramos with 7 points, while Madeline Whittington and Yunieska Robles Batista added 6 each.
Tenerife dominated on serve and in attack
The hosts imposed their will from the beginning of the match and did not allow the opponent to score more than 17 points in any set.
Tenerife finished with 8 aces and 47% attack efficiency. Sully Sundara, Nea-Maria Joky, and Yeisy Soto each scored 12 points.
The match lasted 78 minutes in front of 438 spectators.
Thus, Maccabi Haifa's European participation ended in its very first round, and Ivan Petkov's team will focus its attention on the Israeli domestic championship.
The official roster of Maccabi also includes Bulgarian assistant coaches Lazar Lazarov and Vladimir Todorov. Thus, with the team's elimination, the European participation of a total of four Bulgarian representatives in the club concludes.
