Bulgarian international Maria Koleva and her Dentil/Praia Clube qualified for the final of the women's Superliga in Brazil. The team from Uberlândia won the decisive third semifinal match against Sesc Flamengo with a score of 3:2 (25:23, 36:34, 22:25, 11:25, 15:13) and closed the series with a 2:1 victory.
The clash in "Maracanãzinho" offered everything – tension, long sets, and a dramatic tie-break. Praia started more stably and took the first set after a strong run by Morgan Hentz. The second turned into a true marathon, lasting almost 50 minutes, with Hentz again being key to the 36:34 success.
After that, Flamengo came back into the match, winning the third and fourth sets, taking the match to a decisive tie-break. There, nerves proved crucial – Adenízia gave them an advantage with a block at a key moment, and Kasi Payton realized the last point for 15:13 and qualification for the final.
The most effective player was the American Morgan Hentz with 31 points and 4 aces, but the collective play and stability in defense, led by libero Natinha, proved decisive.
For Maria Koleva, this is a significant club-level success – participation in a final in one of the strongest championships in the world.
Dentil/Praia Clube will compete for the title against Gerdau Minas on May 3rd in the "Ibirapuera" hall in São Paulo. The champion will be determined in a single match.
