One of the most experienced Bulgarian coaches in women's volleyball is back in the game and ready for a new challenge abroad. After parting ways with Levski at the end of January, a decision that came after differences in the vision for the team's development, Radoslav Arsov did not remain unemployed for long and quickly found the next step in his career. This was reported by Turkish media today.
Turkish Göztepe, which finished the season in the Vodafone Sultans League, continues its active work on building the squad for the new campaign, and the Bulgarian specialist is the chosen one to lead the team forward.
The İzmir club parted ways with head coach Ataman Güneyiligil on March 16 by mutual agreement, a decision that is part of a restructuring strategy. The management acknowledged the specialist's significant contribution, including the championship title in the jubilee 100th anniversary season and the stable performance after returning to the elite league.
Göztepe finished 11th in the Vodafone Sultans League with 28 points, a record of 9 wins and 17 losses, and a set difference of 40:56.
An interesting detail is that precisely in the crucial 2024/25 season, when Göztepe won promotion to the elite league, Bulgarian national player Miroslava Paskova was part of the squad. After her strong performance in Turkey, she took the next step in her career and continued in the newly formed American professional league LOVB, where she currently plays for Atlanta.
Arsov's coaching career:

Arsov's career is strongly oriented towards the French school, with many years of work in France and subsequent development in Russia and the Bulgarian national team. This positions him as a coach with extensive international experience and a flexible approach.
One of the factors contributing to Arsov's good international image is his work at Lokomotiv (Kaliningrad), where he led the team to the Russian vice-championship title and worked with one of the biggest stars of Turkish volleyball – Ebrar Karakurt. This has certainly contributed to his more significant recognition in the Turkish volleyball scene.
With Arsov's appointment, he becomes the second Bulgarian coach in the Göztepe structure, where Stanimir Stoilov heads the football team – further proof of the significant Bulgarian presence at the İzmir club.
