Yesterday was Kristian Padar's last training session with Vero Volley Monza, learnedvolleyweek.bgfrom sources close to the club. This confirms the information fromvolleyball.it, that the Hungarian opposite is leaving for Turkey.
A little later today, another confirmation came from the volleynews.it website, located in Monza, according to which Vero Volley wanted to have Padar at least until the direct clash with Padua on February 14. But on Tuesday there was an insistence from İstanbul Genclik, who offered the player a contract for the 2026/27 season, but on the condition that Padar would finish the current season with them immediately, without waiting.
The reason for his immediate departure is also related to the timelines of the Turkish transfer market for the current season, whose window closes before February 14, but not only. Padar likely insisted on finalizing the deal because it currently appears he has not received other offers for next year, despite a good season in the SuperLega in his first experience in Italy.
In all likelihood, Monza will not immediately look for a replacement for the vacant spot and will continue the season with their second opposite, Diego Frascio. The option is also not excluded, if things don't go well, for the team to switch to a three-receiver formation, with Rørs also taking on opposite duties.
Head coach Massimo Eccheli also has another option – to test young national player Zhasmin Velichkov in this position, who originally played as an opposite both in the national teams and in the youth formations of Beroe.
Monza's final scheme will become clear very soon, as the team has a crucial match against Padua on February 14.
