The Balkan Volleyball Association (BVA) has a new chairman. During the General Assembly, representatives of the national federations from the region elected Georgios Karabetsos (Greece) as the new president of the organization, and Petar Jovanovski (North Macedonia) was appointed as vice-president.
The forum was officially opened by the outgoing BVA President Milutin Popovic, and greetings to the delegates were extended by CEV President Rok Sikiric and Anita Glibic, President of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among the official guests at the assembly was Frane Zanic, President of the Croatian Volleyball Federation.
Lyubomir Ganev, president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, also took an active part in the meeting, which highlighted the commitment of the Bulgarian headquarters to the processes and future development of volleyball in the Balkan region.

BVA Secretary General Nilüfer Shimonsky presented a detailed report on the association's activities, as well as the financial report. Both documents were unanimously adopted by the delegates, sending a clear signal of stability and continuity in the organization's work.
During the General Assembly, the dates and hosts of the Balkan Championships in 2026 were also approved. The final list of participating teams in all age groups must be completed by April 1, 2026. It was also confirmed that the 28th General Assembly of the Balkan Volleyball Association will be held in Greece in early 2027.
