Maritsa's first lost set, but she finished first in the half-season, Slavia with a complete comeback

Four of the five matches from the ninth round of the Demax+ Women's League were played, bringing both expected victories for the favorites and dramatic comebacks. Leader Maritsa Plovdiv continues its flawless run, Levski solidified its position at the top, CPVC achieved an important five-set victory, and Slavia demonstrated character after trailing 0:2.

Maritsa Plovdiv with a ninth consecutive victory, but also a first lost set

The Maritsa Plovdiv volleyball players achieved their ninth consecutive victory since the start of the season and remain undefeated in the championship. The champions won away against Dragoman with 3:1 (25:11, 24:26, 25:13, 25:9), conceding their first lost set of the 2025/2026 campaign.

The guests started convincingly and dominated the first set, but the hosts showed character in the second part and, after 26:24, equalized the score. However, this proved to be the only moment of hesitation for the Plovdiv team, who in the next two sets imposed complete superiority and closed the match without suspense.

Levski confident in Varna

Levski Sofia recorded its eighth consecutive victory after winning away against DKS Varna with 3:1 (25:15, 22:25, 25:17, 25:9). The "Blues" finished the first part of the regular season with an excellent record, while Varna conceded their ninth consecutive defeat.

After a strong start and a decisive first set, Levski showed hesitation in the second part, but quickly regained control of the match. In the third and fourth sets, the class difference was visible, and the guests convincingly closed the match.

CPVC prevailed over Maritsa 2022 in five sets

The CPVC team achieved a valuable home victory over Maritsa 2022 with 3:2 (25:20, 17:25, 25:23, 14:25, 15:11). The match went through serious fluctuations, with the two teams exchanging two sets each before the capital's team imposed its will in the tie-break.

With this victory, CPVC continues with a balance of 6 wins and 3 losses, while the Plovdiv team suffered its second consecutive and fifth overall loss since the start of the season.

Slavia with an impressive comeback in Varna

In the other Varna match of the round, Slavia made a strong comeback and defeated Deya Sport with 3:2 (23:25, 23:25, 25:21, 26:24, 15:10). The "Whites" fell behind by 0:2 sets but showed character and stability in key moments.

After 25:21 and a dramatic fourth set, won with 26:24, Slavia dominated the tie-break and closed the match with 15:10, recording a valuable success in the fight for the middle of the table.

The last match of the round

The ninth round will conclude tomorrow with the match between CSKA and Minyor, which will not bring any additional changes to the standings.

In the middle of the standings, the battle between CSKA, CPVC, and Maritsa 2022 is extremely competitive, and at the bottom, DKS Varna and Deyasport are experiencing serious difficulties, as evident from their low ratios.

After the end of the round, attention shifts to the Bulgarian Cup tournament, which will take place from December 19 to 21 in the capital's "Hristo Botev" Hall. Expectations are for competitive matches and new insights into the real balance of power in women's volleyball in our country.
