Bulgarian international Damyan Kolev and his team Ludwigsburg qualified for the quarterfinals of the German Volleyball Cup, after defeating second-division Dachau as guests with3:0 (25:22, 25:21, 25:19).
Kolev started as a libero and remained on the court for all three sets. The Bulgarian recorded 11 receptions, of which 64% were positive, with 55% efficiency and only one error.
The most effective player for the winners was Marius Büchi with 12 points, followed by Ben-Simon Bonin with 11 and Tim Köpfli with 10. Bonin impressed with 62% success in attack, while Büchi converted 10 of his 20 attacks.
For the hosts, Tobias Besenböck finished with 16 points, and Maximilian Hartmann added 15.
Ludwigsburg had a significant advantage in attack, where they scored 41 points with 57% success against 32 points and 42% for Dachau. The guests finished with 4 aces and 3 successful blocks, while the hosts recorded 7 and 4 respectively.
Although Dachau had better statistics in serving and blocking, the higher efficiency in attack and the greater number of errors by the hosts proved decisive for the final result.
Ludwigsburg continues its participation in the tournament, and Damyan Kolev solidified his role as the team's main libero. We remind you that another Bulgarian international, Preslav Petkov, whose Düren crushed Munich 3:0 (25:16, 25:21, 25:15) on November 5, has already qualified for the quarterfinals.
