Bulgarian opposite Aleksandar Manushev, who last played for CSKA, took the lead in the ranking of the most effective volleyball players in the Swiss National League A, despite the defeat of his Lausanne UC in the fourth round of the championship.
Lausanne lost at home to Colombier Volley with 2:3 (22:25, 25:23, 27:29, 25:23, 15:17) after an extremely contested match lasting 2 hours and 13 minutes.
Manushev was again the most effective player for his team, finishing with 14 points. The Bulgarian made 11 successful attacks out of 26 attempts, achieving 42% success in attack, and added 3 aces.
The hosts managed to equalize the score in the sets twice, but ultimately lost after a dramatic tie-break. In the decisive fifth set, Lausanne led 5:1 and had a 12:11 advantage, but the visitors managed to turn the tide of the match and win 17:15.
For the winners, Mathias Montavon was the most effective with 13 points, including 3 aces.
Despite the defeat, Manushev now holds first place among the scorers in the Swiss elite with 83 points after four rounds. Of these, 75 were achieved in attack, 5 directly from serve, and 3 from block.

The Bulgarian surpassed his main competitor David Bonn from Colombier Volley by three points, who has 80 points. Third is Luca Cardona from Chenois Geneva with 71 points.
Thus, Manushev not only solidifies his role as Lausanne's main attacking force but also becomes one of the most effective players in the championship at the beginning of the 2026/2027 season.
