Brazil sealed their ticket to Los Angeles in women's football

Brazil won the South American Women's Volleyball Championship and secured a direct quota for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. In the decisive match at "Maracanazinho" in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilians defeated Argentina 3-0 (26:24, 25:19, 25:16).
José Roberto Guimarães' team went through the tournament without losing a set. Before the decisive clash with Argentina, the hosts recorded four consecutive clean victories – against Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, and Chile.
Brazil's path to the title:
Brazil – Venezuela 3-0 (25:14, 25:13, 25:19)
Brazil – Peru 3-0 (25:16, 25:16, 25:15)
Brazil – Colombia 3-0 (25:19, 25:18, 36:34)
Brazil – Chile 3-0 (25:13, 30:28, 25:11)
Brazil – Argentina 3-0 (26:24, 25:19, 25:16)
Thus, Brazil finished the competition with five victories and an impressive balance of 15:0 sets, and the success over Argentina brought the team the direct Olympic quota from South America.
Even before the last competition day, the three representatives of the continent for the 2027 World Cup in the USA and Canada became known. Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia secured their participation in the tournament after guaranteeing their places among the top three in South America.
For Brazil, the triumph in Rio is their 24th South American title and 16th in a row. The Brazilians continue their streak as continental champions, which began in 1993.
