Denmark continued their impressive performance at the Men's European Championship and defeated Estonia 3:0 (28:26, 25:22, 25:16) in Group C in Finland.
Just a day earlier, the Danes delivered one of the tournament's surprises after crushing the Netherlands 3:0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:20). This was Denmark's first victory at a European Championship in 13 years, and now the team has two consecutive successes.
Against Estonia, the first set was the most contested. The two teams reached 24:24 and continued point for point before Denmark snatched the set 28:26.
In the second set, the tie remained until 10:10, after which the Danes gradually took control and won 25:22. In the third, their superiority was already decisive – 25:16 for the clean victory.
Mads Kyed Jensen and Tobias Hougs Kjær were among the leading scorers for Denmark.
The match at "Nokia Arena" was watched by 6467 spectators. After the historic victory over the Netherlands, Denmark has now confirmed against Estonia that their strong performance in Group C was not a one-off flash.
