Bulgaria finished the home tournament disappointingly – losing 1:3 to Poland, with both "The Squad" and "The Roosters" getting the job done.
The last 4 matches of the stream were played in "Levski Sofia" hall. Here's what happened on the seventh competition day of EuroVolley 2024 in Group A:
1. France – Ukraine 3:1 (25:22, 20:25, 25:9, 25:23)
The last day of the group stage in Sofia started with the match between "The Roosters" and the Ukrainians. The French started the match confidently but calmly – taking a 1:0 lead after 25:22. In the second set, their tempo dropped slightly, which gave Ukraine a chance to reveal some of its potential. The East Slavic team equalized the score after 25:20. This development of the match annoyed "The Roosters," who literally "tore apart" their opponent in the third game – 25:9. The fourth set was even, but France allowed no more surprises in the match – after 25:23, they deservedly closed the match with 3:1 sets. Ukraine finished at the bottom of Group A without a single point won. The French, for their part, will play in the semi-finals on Saturday against the Spanish team.

2. Turkey – Austria 3:2 (21:25, 25:22, 25:17, 21:25, 15:10)
Our southeastern neighbors finished their participation in EuroVolley 2024 with a difficult victory over the Austrian team. The first game went to "Wunderteam" – 25:21. The second and third sets were won by Turkey with 22 and 17 points respectively, which led to a complete turnaround in the score – 2:1. The fourth set was won by Austria after another 25:21, which sent the match into a tie-break. In the decisive fifth game, the Turks showed stronger nerves and celebrated the victory – 15:10 and 3:2. In this way, our southeastern neighbors finished Group A in Sofia in fourth place. "Wunderteam" remained in seventh.

3. Finland – Portugal 3:0 (25:17, 25:23, 25:17)
The likeable "Suomi" team finished the European championship in a wonderful way, decisively defeating the "navigators" with 3:0. The first game was clear – 25:17. The second was even, but again went to the Scandinavian country – the "Suomis" took it after a tough 25:23. The third set ended in an identical way to the first – another 25:17. With this clean 3:0 victory, Finland fully deservedly finished in third place in Group A, which was played in "Levski Sofia" hall.

4. Poland – Bulgaria 3:1 (20:25, 25:18, 25:20, 25:17)
The group stage in stream A concluded with the match between "Druzyna Polska" and "the Lions." Bulgaria suffered 3 heavy losses in recent days but managed to recover for a moment, winning the first set against the Poles – 25:20. In the remaining three sets, Poland completely controlled the game on the court. Our opponent won them with 18, 20, and 17 points respectively, which is further proof that our team has drastically fallen behind, or more precisely – has not developed in the last year. We are finishing the home European Volleyball Championship for boys under 18 in a terrible way. Our team occupies fifth place in Group A, while Poland won second, and will face Manuel Zlatanov's Italy in the semi-finals on Saturday.
